GIP-37: Fragment Expansion and DAO Operations
Abstract
This proposal requests a budget to continue funding DAO operations and the next phase of our Fragment Expansion. Fragment Expansions have been successfully operated on an invitation-only basis (via Mr. Misang and Council members), establishing the initial artwork for the Square Tales website (https://squaretales.world/ ). Following this success, we will continue the invitation-only model until a natural, self-sustaining environment is formed with sufficient community participation. Our team remains committed to supporting the DAO and fostering an inclusive, collaborative environment.
Fragment Expansion Operation
Fragment expansions will occur when our team has invited enough artists to run another round. Given that the web3 artist community is still emerging, our team is working hard to contact potential contributors individually to ensure high-quality and consistent participation. Invited artists can submit their artwork via the Square Tales website (see submission guidelines here: guideline ). Curators—currently council members—will nominate artworks, though this role will eventually be separated from council duties. Selected work will be featured on the Square Tales website.
DAO Operation
While a new website and a new role (curator) have been introduced, the core DAO operational process remains unchanged. The council will continue its responsibilities, supporting Ghost Project holders and managing core operating systems.
Budget & Timeline
We are requesting a total budget of 4.9 ETH to cover all fragment expansion and DAO operation costs; This budget is calculated to last 4 months.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Total Budget | 4.9 ETH |
| Duration | 4 months |
| Start Month | July 2026 |
| End Month | October 2026 |
This budget includes compensation for the council, fixed operational costs (Discord, forum, Snapshot, Square Tales), and additional fees incurred during fragment expansion. Our fixed costs are not tied to the price of ETH, so we will continue operations until the full budgeted amount is used. If the price of ETH increases, the funds will last longer and cover additional months of operation beyond the initial estimate.
Compensation for council will be treated as the lowest priority budget item. If additional operational expenses arise, council compensation can be partially reduced or omitted to ensure the continuity of DAO operations and Fragment Expansion activities.
